If you’ve got a built-in water dispenser, it’s good to recognize the signs when it’s time to replace your water filter.
This generally needs to be replaced every 6 months, but it will depend on how much you use it.

Check That the Control Panel Lock Isn’t on
If there’s a padlock showing on your Control Panel, it’s likely that your Control or Child Lock is on.
You can toggle this off by pressing and holding the ‘Child Lock’ button for 3-5 seconds until the padlock disappears.

Check That the Filter is Sitting Properly in the Housing
If the filter isn’t sitting properly in its housing, the refrigerator won’t recognize that it’s been installed. Double-check that it’s seated firmly and doesn’t wobble, then try resetting the light again.
Check That the Correct Filter Has Been Installed
There are multiple different types of filters available, but only one will fit your fridge.
You can double-check that your model number matches the side of the canister or against your owner’s manual. If it’s not a match, you should order and install the correct version.

Reset the Refrigerator
If all else has failed, you can perform a hard reset on the refrigerator by turning it off at the mains power for 30 minutes, then turning it back on. Be careful only to do this once per day (maximum!)
